June 23rd, 2009   Took the kids to get eaten by mosquitoes at Lake Wenatchee. We had a great time by the lake and the kids played like mad. They befriended a little girl named Charlotte. She has to be trouble with a name like that. The mosquitos are crazy this time of year. Pascal is getting much better with his math. Tatiana is sleeeeepy lately.

June 19th, 2009Tatiana gonna go strawberry picking today. Hopefully we can save them till March or so.

June 18th, 2009 Did some research on DIY electric bikes:

June 7th, 2009 Weekend summary: Lawn, Bike. Went for a bike ride with Scott this weekend. Great route We ran into another gentlemen that was looking for E Lake Sammamish Pkwy and he joined us until we got to Issaquah.
Pi is imitating Swiper the fox now and says :"Oooooh Maaaan". very funny. For the parents anyways. Has been a great spring so far and the following week is calling for sun.
Read a Scientific American article on food shortages. The article itself is pretty scary but the extra strain on the food supply and the environmental impact of creating fuel from corn is so crazy. How is it that this is thought of as a clean technology. We need to bridge over to solar. Nuclear is the ideal bridge.
Here is a recent shot of pascal and pi actually getting along while having a picnic. (this is at ferrel mcwitter park right behind our house):

June 1st, 2009 Broke my back Friday going up a steep section on my bike. Stupid me really. Added some steps to the hot tub and hung out at idlewood park. Great spot for the kids. Pascal cut his toe somehow. Remember how he did it. Or at least he isn't tell me. He is limping around like an old man. Went to Palmers on Sunday and the kids danced their asses off. Awesome. The final Giro ITT was really exciting. Denis Menchov wiped out the last km which jeopardized his race lead. He still managed to win though. The spring has been really nice so far. This week is going to be quite hot. Pascal has a bit of a fever.

Pascal and Pi pretending to be explorers by Sammamish river trail. This is by the old age community center close to QFC:

May 27th 2009 Click the link above to see some may photos. Weather has been great so far. Road the 7 hills this last monday, fun ride. Scotts friend Mark was very fast. Kids addicted to the hot tub. Had BBQ on monday and someone was filling the hot tub with sand. Rats! Pascal has yet to break any bones on the trampoline... I have faith though. Watching Giro. Pretty anti climatic. Last year we had Ricardo Ricco adding a ton of excitement. At least there is something good about the juice. Still reading book on Winston Churchill . Absolutely fascinating character. I think I may read another biography on him since this one really only covers the 20's and 30's. Winston quoted from the book:
When the situation was manageable is was neglected, and now that it is thoroughly out of had, we apply too late the remedies which the might have affected a cure. There is nothing new in the story. It is old as the Sibylline books. It falls into that long dismal catalogue of the fruitlessness of experience and the confirmed unteachability of mankind. Want of foresight, unwillingness to act when action would be simple and effective, lack of clear thinking, confusion of counsel until the emergency come, until self-preservation strikes its jarring gong - these are the features which constitute the endless repetition of history.
I just found this photo of pascal when he was about 1.5 years old. Great picture. It is weird, your kids grow up so fast when they are so young that you are constantly missing them, but anticipating their next adventure:

and look at him now:
